On 5 September, the birthday of the Great Teacher of the Nation Ahmet Baitursynuly, and within the framework of celebrating the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, supported by the public association International Society of the Kazakh Language, launched the project “National Dictation”.
“Ұлттық диктант” is a nationwide cultural-educational initiative aimed at elevating the status of the state language, improving citizens’ literacy, and reinforcing national identity and linguistic culture.
At Baitursynuly University, from 28 to 31 October a “National Dictation” was held for first-year students across various educational programmes. The event was organised by the Department of Philology and Practical Linguistics.
The purpose of the event is the development of the state language, the improvement of writing skills among youth, and the cultivation of respect for one’s native language.
It is worth noting that the students demonstrated a high level of preparation and responsibility, showing genuine interest and respect for the culture of their native language.
