The Department of Journalism and Communication Management at Baitursynuly University continues to build connections with schools. Recently, Professor Olga Kungurova attended the grand opening of the Regional Competence Center for Media Literacy at the Abai Secondary School in the Fedorovsky District.
This event marked an important step in the development of media education in the region. The Competence Center, which will eventually operate under the patronage of the university’s journalism department, will allow school students and teachers to learn from professionals, share experiences, and apply their knowledge in practice.
After the opening ceremony, guests got acquainted with the journalism activities of the Abai School. Teachers conducted workshops and presented their work and methodologies.
Professor Olga Kungurova spoke about the role of the Department of Journalism and Communication Management in the development of media education in the region. She emphasized the department’s readiness to support the Center, host joint events, and actively share knowledge and experience.
