The lecture was delivered to students by Ainur Maisatayeva, Master of Laws and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Criminal and Civil Law and Procedure at KRU.
The meeting was organized in an interactive format and conducted in Kazakh and Russian.
The purpose of the event was to discuss the draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“During the meeting, we examined the innovations and positive aspects of the reform,” the lecturer noted. “The primary focus of the amendments is to strengthen the rights and freedoms of citizens.”
The speaker clearly explained what the Constitution is and the role it plays in the lives of citizens.
A comparative analysis of the current Constitution and the draft of the updated Basic Law was also conducted.
It is known that the scope of the reform is significantly broader than previous amendments: while 56 amendments were adopted in 2022, approximately 84% of the Constitution’s text has been revised in the current draft.
KRU student Daria Mikhailyova shared her impressions of the event:
“The lecture helped us improve our legal literacy, broaden our outlook, and develop a more informed understanding of issues related to the structure of the state.”
Participants were also reminded of the importance of demonstrating active civic engagement and taking part in the referendum on the draft Constitution, which will be held on March 15, 2026.
