The initiative aims to foster a caring attitude toward nature and to promote zoo-volunteering as an important component of youth social responsibility.
Since the founding of the student birdwatching club by Professor Tatyana Bragina, participation in this campaign has become a good tradition for students of the department.
Under the guidance of Senior Lecturer Maria Ruleva, students visited Victory Park, where they cleared bird feeders of snow and replenished them with food.
According to the participants, the park has a sufficient number of feeders, and city residents regularly feed the birds.
In addition, students of the Biology educational program conducted a winter bird census in the park.
They were delighted to note that the park is truly “alive”: there are many birds, and during the winter period they are especially in need of care.
Members of the birdwatching club regularly feed birds from December to March.
The club participants encourage students of all specialties to join the campaign, feed birds in winter, and treat nature with care.
