The Baitursynuly University chess club now has a permanent location in the building at 28 Abaya Avenue. The grand opening took place today.
"We decided to locate the club here because two large faculties are located in these buildings," said KRU Rector Seytbek Kuanyshbayev. "But this club is open to all students and staff of the university.
At the club, you can play chess, checkers, and togyzkumalak. By the way, these games are really popular at KRU.
"We are grateful to your university," said Pavel Rusanov, executive director of the ООО «Федерация шахмат Казахстана» (Kazakhstan Chess Federation LLC) for the Kostanay region.
– I encourage everyone to actively play chess. It is an excellent tool for developing logic and training memory. People of all professions should utilize it.
The rector of KRU proposed going beyond the club. In the new academic year, hold the Rector's Cup. Bring together students and high school students from the region.
"Let's do it in the fall when the weather is warm, in an open area. So that all Kostanay residents who want to can play chess," said Seytbek Bekennovich.
Those present enthusiastically supported the idea.
