This week’s session took place at the Geological Museum of the Interregional Department “SevKazNedra” in Kostanay, which was founded in 1956.
An engaging and informative экскурсию was conducted by the Head of the Museum, Vera Yedigenova, who introduced participants to the history and rich collections of the institution.
The museum houses unique exhibits, including more than 68 types of ferrous, non-ferrous, and rare-earth metals; bauxites from three major bauxite mining administrations; chrysotile asbestos; industrial diamonds; oil samples; as well as minerals classified according to chemical groups.
Head of the Department of Natural Sciences at KRU, Gaukhar Baubekova, presented an overview of the geography and mineral resources of the Kostanay Region, as well as its geomorphological and tectonic structure.
Participants of the “Silver University” project expressed their gratitude for the well-organized and informative session.
