Students of Baitursynuly University attended a meeting on the topic of gambling addiction.
The event was attended by Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Work Nurlikhan Temirbekov, Ethics Commissioner of the Kostanay Regional Akimat Kairat Suyundikov, regional healthcare veteran Valentin Yakimov, and Head of the Youth Policy Department of the University Diana Rakpanova.
Participants discussed the reasons why young people become addicted to gambling, focusing on the consequences of gambling addiction, which has been officially recognized as a disease by the World Health Organization.
The meeting also touched on the anti-corruption aspects of gambling-related issues.
At the end of the event, young people were urged to stay alert and not fall for the traps of gambling, and to share the knowledge they had gained with their friends and families.
