Today, Kostanay Regional University held an online meeting for final-year undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students studying on a state educational grant with a representative of the “Financial Center” JSC.
The speaker was Akzira Serikkali, a leading specialist at the Financial Center.
She provided a detailed overview of all aspects of mandatory grant work-off requirements, including timelines, regulations, required documents, and common situations graduates often face.
Students had many questions:
– What if I am drafted into the army?
You receive a full exemption rather than just a deferment. A military ID or official certificate is sufficient.
– Do I have to be a single mother to be exempt from work-off?
No. Having a child under the age of three already qualifies you for an exemption.
– I switched to a grant in the middle of my 3rd year. Will I have to work off the full three years?
The Financial Center calculates the period based on official orders and formula. You only need to work off the time during which you actually studied on the grant.
– If I enter a master’s program abroad after my bachelor’s degree, do I still have to work off the bachelor’s grant?
The work-off obligation is postponed for the duration of your master’s studies. Once you complete the program, the bachelor’s grant obligations remain in force.
The consultation helped graduates better understand their rights and responsibilities and plan their future careers.
