MAJOR INNOVATIONS for the Youngest Learners

Baitursynuly University is launching a research and practice platform for modern preschool education and early childhood development (ages 1–7) in the Kostanay region.

The initiative aims to integrate academic research, pedagogical practice, and digital technologies into teacher training programs, guided by the principles of inclusive education and the cultivation of environmental awareness.

A Strategic Social Partnership

The project will be implemented through a social partnership between the University and the Public Foundation for Child Development “Intellect of the Future” (Kostanay, Director – Olga Solovyova), as well as the Public Foundation “Center for Social Inclusive Programs” (Almaty, Director – Saltanat Murzalinova-Yakovleva).

During the ceremonial opening of the innovative children’s center Nova Kids, a memorandum of cooperation was signed.

Under the trilateral agreement, the partners plan to:

Nova Kids: A Next-Generation Learning Environment

“Nova Kids” is a next-generation educational space that combines modern technologies, neurodevelopmental practices, inclusive and eco-conscious approaches, and a safe environment tailored to every child.

According to Center Director Olga Solovyova:

“We are creating a space where children grow in alignment with the challenges of the future, while specialists gain hands-on experience that meets the real demands of our time.”

The Center will begin operations on March 2. Its key distinction from traditional kindergartens lies in its innovative and contemporary educational model.

Early childhood development programs involve a multidisciplinary team of specialists, including a speech therapist-defectologist, neuropsychologist, and movement therapist. The curriculum also features children’s yoga, therapeutic physical training, and choreography.

Dance practices are used not only for aesthetic development but also for gentle correction of musculoskeletal conditions. This comprehensive approach is particularly important for families raising children who require special developmental support.

Launch of the “Animal Therapy” Educational Program

The University is currently developing an innovative academic program titled “Animal Therapy,” which will include:

Mastering these methods will enable future specialists to work effectively with children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental differences — supporting speech development, building communication skills, fostering independence in daily living, and reducing maladaptive behaviors.

The Nova Kids Center will serve as the program’s primary practical training base.

Professor of Baitursynuly University, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences Alexandra Tegza, has already completed canine-assisted therapy training in Lithuania and is preparing for an internship in Canada to study clinical canine-assisted therapy practices.

Advancing the University’s Third Mission

Elmira Nauryzbayeva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, emphasized the strategic importance of the project:

“We view this initiative as the University’s contribution to fulfilling its Third Mission — service to society and regional development. The project will strengthen Kostanay’s position as a center of innovative education and establish a sustainable model of collaboration between science, education, and the social sector.”

In the long term, the initiative will contribute to preparing a new generation of specialists and enhancing the quality of preschool education across the region.
