The first semester at King Sejong Institute at Baitursynuly University has been successfully completed!
Today, the children who spent 15 weeks studying the Korean language and learning about the culture of this unique country received certificates.
- When the management of our university first learned that a KIA plant would be built in Kostanay, they immediately began looking for strategic partners in South Korea, - said Zhenis ZHARLYGASOV, Vice-Rector of KRU, at the end of the semester ceremony. - That is how we established academic ties with Dong-Eui University and subsequently opened the King Sejong Institute on the basis of our university.
The courses were attended not only by KRU students, but also by anyone who wanted to. And there were a lot of them. According to the director of the King Sejong Institute, Nagima MANASBAEVA, initially more than 150 people signed up, although there were 70 places.
Among those who received certificates today are KRU students who will be heading to Korea at the end of February.
- I will be studying at Dong-Eui University for a whole semester under the academic mobility program, - says Nikita YAROSHEVICH, a second-year student of the Mechanical Engineering program. - Of course, it’s a bit nerve-wracking, but I already have the basics of the Korean language!
