First-year master's students in the "Pedagogy and Psychology" program at Baitursynuly University held a seminar titled “Methods for Organizing Independent Work of Students in Higher Education,” under the guidance of Professor Bibigul Utegenova.
The seminar aimed to explore methods for developing assignments, familiarize students with types and requirements of independent work, and discuss innovative approaches.
The session opened with a discussion on the importance of self-education, introduced with a parable about a wise elder emphasizing the conscious application of knowledge.
In the practical part, participants worked in micro-groups to design assignments, develop evaluation criteria, and suggest ideas to enhance the effectiveness of independent student work. Key proposals included using digital technologies, gamification, interactive platforms, and project-based learning.
The session concluded with a reflection in which participants shared insights and discussed how to apply what they learned in teaching practice. The seminar helped deepen their understanding of the role of independent work and discover new methods aligned with modern educational trends.
