How well do teaching approaches at Baitursynuly University align with the demands of today’s labor market? This question was at the center of discussion at the Department of Natural Sciences of the Pedagogical Institute, where a methodological seminar with stakeholders was held on the topic “Updating Applied Disciplines within Natural Science Educational Programs.”
The seminar aimed to review and analyze the extent to which the content and structure of applied disciplines in the natural sciences correspond to contemporary professional standards and labor market expectations.
The event brought together representatives of secondary education institutions in Kostanay, including:
- Anar Kabdulinova, Principal of School No. 19;
- Oksana Dirr, Deputy Director for Research and Methodological Work and Research Teacher at the Physics and Mathematics Lyceum;
- Karina Nugumanova, Chemistry Teacher, Master Teacher, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences at the Specialized IT Boarding School-Lyceum “Ozat”;
- Mendygul Zeinulina, Geography Teacher at the Specialized School-Gymnasium Boarding School named after Ibray Altynsarin.
Participants reviewed the current academic programs, discussed selected modules and topics within the elective component of the Biology educational program, and put forward recommendations for improvement in line with current professional requirements.
School representatives emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue between the university and employers and expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to participate in such collaborative initiatives.
