Professor of Baitursynuly University visited Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU, Kaunas).
Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor Aleksandra Tegza notes that this trip was an important stage in the development of our cooperation with the Lithuanian university, which began back in 2012.
- At that time, I was looking for a foreign scientific supervisor for a doctoral student, and contacted the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science at LSMU, Professor Albina Anyuliene.
Her response became the beginning of a fruitful partnership between our universities.
Professor Anyuliene came to Kostanay then, took part in the "Baitursynov Readings-2013", held meetings, consultations.
And then representatives of the Kostanay university began to undergo an internship in Lithuania. Exchange of experience, joint scientific research, lectures of foreign scientists in Kostanay. Cooperation gained momentum every year.
Today, these are established scientific contacts between scientists from the two countries, proven by more than 10 years of cooperation.
In April of this year, Professor Tegza visited LSMU again.
- We are currently сonducting scientific research, which we are developing with colleagues from Lithuania, - explains Alexandra Alekseyevna. - At the same time, we are preparing material for the publication of research results and adjusting the trajectory of the experiment for the application of a scientific project for the competition.
This happens when like-minded people meet. New ideas, big plans and a lot, a lot of work.
I also manage to attend events at the university. Among them are presentations of reports on the pathology/forensic examination module, an exam in the form of practical assignments on courses that future veterinarians have mastered, and discussions on professional topics.
Beyond this work, the teacher notes, new horizons are opening up for joint projects.
- One of these areas is organizing control over the number of homeless animals. Anyone who has been to Europe knows that you will not find homeless cats and dogs on the streets there. The experience of Lithuanian colleagues in this area is very valuable, especially in light of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Responsible Treatment of Animals, which entered into force in March 2022.
Our cooperation continues to develop, opening up new opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and experience between universities. I am sure that even more interesting projects await us ahead!
