The international scientific-practical conference on "Current Issues of Modern Journalism and PR: Conflictogenic Discourse in Media and Mass Communications" was held today at the initiative of the Department of Journalism and Communication Management.
Participants included students and faculty from Kazakhstani and foreign universities, practicing journalists, advertising and PR professionals, non-governmental organizations representatives, and public figures. Notably, this annual conference has now been held for the fifth time.
The conference covered the topic of: the role of media in resolving social conflicts, inclusivity in PR campaigns and social advertising, issues of deontology and journalism and PR law, media linguistics (theoretical and applied), social media in the context of societal socialization, and media education as a response to the challenges of the information society.
The event was conducted in a hybrid (offline and online) format , with participants from Russia, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
One of the notable attendees was Olga Mukhina, a PhD student and assistant from the Department of Periodical Press and Online Media in Ural Federal University (Russia), who traveled specifically to attend this conference. On Friday, March 17, she will hold a master class for the students of Journalism educational program.
An online collection with an ISBN assignment is planned for publication shortly after the conference.
