Тoday, the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Topical Issues in Modern Journalism and PR: Experience, Heritage, and New Horizons for Regional Media" was held at Kostanay Regional University (KRU).
The event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Professor Sergey Kharchenko, Doctor of Sociological Sciences and a long-standing faculty member at KRU.
Professor Kharchenko has made a significant contribution to the development of regional media and served for many years as editor-in-chief of the Kostanay News newspaper.
On behalf of the university, KRU Rector Seitbek Kuanyshbayev extended his congratulations to the professor.
Colleagues from the Department of Journalism and Communication Management noted:
“Your life path is a vivid example and a source of inspiration. You motivate not only students but us as well.”
As part of the conference, regional media leaders shared their professional insights with students.
At the conclusion of the event, the honoree expressed his gratitude and emphasized:
“The new generation is well-informed about what’s happening in the world, but it’s not enough to simply know — you must be able to apply knowledge. Without motivation and inner drive, success is out of reach, especially in journalism, where kindness, empathy, and sincerity are essential.”
