“EcoLife-KRU”: The BEST Make Us Better

The “EcoLife-KRU” environmental club of Baitursynuly University has established itself as one of the most active and initiative-driven student organizations in the region.

The team became the winner of the regional competition for environmental ideas and projects among educational institutions.

The competition, organized by the public foundation Environmental Club “Neco”, brought together the most creative and promising eco-initiatives — and our club stood out among the participants.

What Does “EcoLife-KRU” Do?

It’s not just social media posts and attractive posters. It’s large-scale work within the “Taza Kazakhstan” initiative. These are practical and meaningful projects: the team installs containers for separate waste collection, opens recycling drop-off points, organizes environmental campaigns, lectures, and meetings — fostering a true eco-culture within the university.

At the competition, the club presented its project for collecting aluminum cans on campus.

The system developed by our volunteers enables the collection of aluminum and plastic for recycling, preventing these materials from ending up in landfills.

This project earned the team a well-deserved victory and a prize of 100,000 tenge.

The funds will be directed toward launching new eco-initiatives and expanding the club’s activities.

“The team’s main goal is to support students and help them not just talk about ecology, but change their everyday habits,”
notes club leader Gulzat Zhetpisbay.

The competition showcased some of the boldest and most forward-thinking environmental ideas. The “EcoLife-KRU” initiative became one of the most notable and inspiring.

The eco-movement at the university continues to grow, proving that the concept of “Zero Waste” is not a trend or a fashion, but a real lifestyle for today’s youth.

Congratulations to our eco-volunteers on this well-deserved victory — we are proud of you!
