Authorization Authorized to work with microorganisms of biosafety level 2 (COVID-19), Permit No. KZ43VMY00001924.

Laboratory for Quality Control of Food Products and Raw Materials of Biological Origin

Head: Bermukhametov Zh.Z.

The laboratory unites ideas and capabilities for implementing scientific discoveries across various fields. Its research spectrum includes the development and conduct of fundamental and applied studies in biotechnology, immunology, microbiology, veterinary sanitation, and medicine, as well as the implementation of modern achievements in agriculture, the food industry, and healthcare.

Institute Laboratory Capabilities

Verifying the authenticity of agricultural animal origins
DNA passporting of agricultural animals
Detection of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in raw materials, food products, and feed to ensure food safety
Determination of residual amounts of antibiotics and hormonal growth stimulants in raw food materials and food products
Diagnosis of infectious diseases in farm and domestic animals
Determination of resistance of opportunistic and pathogenic microorganisms to antimicrobial drugs
Analysis of the chemical and physical composition of soil, studying its fertility, contamination levels, and trace elements, as well as evaluating agrochemical indicators
Assessing water quality in rivers, lakes, and other water bodies, including analyzing pollution levels and chemical parameters such as toxic substances, oxygen content, heavy metals, etc
Analysis of the impact of agricultural and industrial activities on soil and water bodies to minimize negative effects and develop measures for ecosystem restoration
Use of drones for monitoring: Aerial and aquatic drones are utilized to gather data from hard-to-reach or large-scale areas. Drones equipped with high-precision sensors enable remote monitoring of landscapes, capturing real-time changes

Educational Activities

The laboratories of the Research Institute of Innovative Technologies conduct educational activities. Within the framework of scientific projects and targeted research programs, the laboratories serve as a platform for conducting scientific research and completing dissertation work by doctoral and master’s students, as well as diploma projects by students specializing in veterinary medicine, livestock product processing technology, chemistry, biology, and biotechnology.
