On October 2, Akhmet Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University and Qazaq AI Research University (QAIRU) signed a cooperation agreement to develop and deliver educational programmes based on the AI+X model for training professionals.
As part of the nationwide expansion of the AI+X initiative, Baitursynuly University is participating as a partner in the “AI + Mechanical Engineering” area.
The AI+X model integrates artificial intelligence and data analysis competencies into degree programmes for specific industries.
The universities will work together to develop, review, pilot and deliver programmes that combine professional training with modern AI competencies.
Under the agreement, QAIRU will provide methodological and expert support for integrating AI competencies. It will also help organise AI Core training, review teaching and learning materials, and provide professional development for KRU teaching staff in the application of artificial intelligence.
Baitursynuly University will provide the industry-specific component of the training and involve its academic staff in developing, piloting and delivering the programme. The university will also be able to propose programme content that reflects the characteristics of the regional labour market.
The work will proceed in stages: analysing labour market needs, identifying the required AI competencies, developing the curriculum, course syllabi and teaching materials, reviewing and piloting the programme, and then launching it and monitoring outcomes.
The agreement expands Baitursynuly University’s capacity to integrate artificial intelligence into engineering education and equip future mechanical engineering professionals with new competencies.
