Bringing a Fairy Tale to Life

At KRU, great importance is placed not only on theoretical training but also on the early immersion of students into their future professional environment. A special role in this process is played by the university’s annual program, “Volunteering in Inclusion.”

The program aims to foster interaction between students and children with special educational needs. Over the years, it has become a meaningful tradition for first-year students to take the initiative in organizing creative activities and events for children requiring inclusive support.

This year was no exception. First-year students of the Special Pedagogy educational program prepared and staged a theatrical performance based on the beloved folk tale “The Giant Turnip.”

As part of their introduction to psychological and pedagogical work in rehabilitation and correctional institutions, the student volunteers performed at several venues across the city, including the Kostanay Special Complex “Kindergarten–School–Boarding School” for children with special educational needs, the Kostanay Office of Psychological and Pedagogical Correction, the “Logoped +” Speech Therapy Center, and the “AmanatiK” Child Development Center.

For the children, the performance by KRU students became a true celebration, bringing sincere smiles, joyful interaction, and positive emotions. For the first-year students, it was an invaluable first experience of working with children with special educational needs, helping them develop professional empathy and a deeper understanding of the importance of their chosen profession.

We are proud of our students and grateful to our partners for their warm welcome. Together, we are taking meaningful steps toward a more inclusive and compassionate society.
