Your Studies, All on Your Phone

KRU has developed the TutorKSU mobile app.

The Department of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence introduced Baitursynuly University’s lecturers and students to an app developed in-house that brings together essential academic services and artificial intelligence tools.

Moodle, Platonus, timetables, the library, learning materials and AI assistants are all available in a single app for Android and iOS.

The project aims to simplify everyday tasks for students and lecturers. Students can view their grades, transcripts and GPA, generate certificates of enrolment, track assignment deadlines and take Moodle tests on their smartphones.

The app also offers learning modules in physics, chemistry, mathematics, programming, biology, agronomy, languages and law.

AI practice tools help users work through problems step by step, receive hints and prepare for exams.

Lecturers can review and grade work in Moodle from their phones, create interactive assignments from teaching materials, view group results and select reading materials for syllabuses while checking their availability in the university library.

The developer has paid particular attention to accessibility and ease of use.

The app supports Kazakh and Russian, and its AI features can read texts aloud.

Core academic functions are free. Users also receive four AI requests per day, while new users can try the advanced features free for three days.

Paid Pro and Pro+ subscriptions provide higher AI request limits and additional tools.

They cost KZT 3,990 and KZT 6,990 per month, respectively.

A paid subscription is not required to make full use of the core academic functions.

The app’s main advantage is bringing familiar university services together in one place, allowing students and lecturers to spend less time on routine tasks and more time studying and working.

TutorKSU does not replace Moodle, Platonus or other university systems; it makes them easier to access.

The app is already available for Android and iOS and continues to evolve.
