The event was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of renowned poet, writer, and Professor of the Department of Journalism and Communication Management at Kostanay Regional University, Aqylbek Shayakhmet.
The celebration gathered the jubilarian’s colleagues and former students, faculty members of the Social Sciences and Humanities Faculty, as well as distinguished cultural figures from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan.
“This year, our esteemed colleague celebrates his 75th birthday,” noted KRU Rector Seitbek Kuanyshbayev. “For our university, Aqylbek Kozhauly is not only a respected scholar but also a mentor and a valued member of our academic family. We wanted to congratulate him sincerely and warmly within the walls of our university. He is a devoted family man, an exemplary educator, and an exceptionally talented individual. We deeply appreciate your contribution, Aqylbek Kozhauly, and are confident that many more joint projects benefiting our students lie ahead. Once again, happy birthday!”

During the event, the Rector of KRU presented honorary awards to the guests.
Ulyqbek Yessdaulet and Ilgar Turkoglu were awarded the Akhmet Baitursynuly Badge of Honor, while Joldoshbek Monoldorov received the Koblandy Badge of Honor.
The guest of honor himself was not left without recognition. Following a cherished tradition, colleagues presented him with a ceremonial shapan and commemorative gifts on behalf of the entire university community.
Congratulating his colleague, Azerbaijani guest Ilgar Turkoglu shared a personal story that pleasantly surprised the audience:
“Let me reveal a little secret: my son completed his master’s degree with distinction right here at KRU!” the writer remarked.
For our university, such trust from international colleagues is a great honor.
Congratulations were delivered not only from the conference podium but also online. Dozens of colleagues from across Kazakhstan joined the event virtually.
The official program was harmoniously complemented by cultural performances, including traditional kui music, heartfelt wishes, and discussions on the integration of national values into the modern information landscape.
Concluding the event, Aqylbek Shayakhmet expressed his gratitude to all those in attendance:
“Thank you for your kind words, your gifts, and for sharing this special day with me. There is still much work ahead. I will remain devoted to my calling: inspiring young talents, sharing my knowledge and experience with them, and continuing to write.”
The university community extends its sincere congratulations to Aqylbek Shayakhmet on this remarkable milestone and wishes him continued creative inspiration, good health, and many more achievements.
