New Horizons at the SCO Forum

Seitbek Kuanyshbayev, Rector of Baitursynuly University, is participating in the 5th Forum of Rectors of Agricultural Universities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States.

The event is being held in China alongside the 11th Annual Conference of the Silk Road Agricultural Education and Technology Innovation Alliance.

These major international platforms have brought together leaders of leading agricultural universities, researchers, and experts to discuss the future of agriculture, science, and higher education.

Key topics on the agenda include the digital transformation of the agro-industrial sector, the adoption of advanced technologies, food security, and the sustainable development of agriculture.

Particular emphasis is being placed on expanding international cooperation through stronger partnerships among universities, joint research initiatives, academic mobility for students and faculty, the education of a new generation of specialists, and the development of international research projects and grant programs.

One of the forum's practical areas of discussion focuses on cooperation aimed at improving the efficiency of agricultural production in the arid regions of Kazakhstan.

Participants also discussed plans to launch a joint Kazakhstan–China scientific journal dedicated to agriculture, innovation, the exchange of best practices, and international cooperation.

Baitursynuly University's participation in the forum creates new opportunities to strengthen international partnerships, exchange advanced expertise, and implement joint research and educational initiatives with leading universities from SCO member states and countries along the Silk Road.
