Three significant works were presented: Volume III of the catalogue “Archaeological Collection of Kazakhstan,” as well as the monographs “Bestamak Necropolis” and “Neolithic of Turgai.”
The authors of the two monographs are researchers from the Kostanay Regional University named after Akhmet Baitursynuly—Head of the Archaeological Laboratory Andrey Logvin and Senior Researcher Irina Shevnina. In addition, Irina Viktorovna is a member of the editorial board of the catalogue “Archaeological Collection of Kazakhstan.” This publication features unique materials from the collections of the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local History and KRU.
The catalogue includes 184 artifacts ranging from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages, including both typical finds and rare exhibits.
The monograph “Bestamak Necropolis” is devoted to a comprehensive study of one of the key Bronze Age sites in Kazakhstan. It presents the results of many years of archaeological excavations conducted by the authors.
“Neolithic of Turgai” summarizes extensive fieldwork and analytical research carried out by the Turgai Archaeological Expedition in the 20th–21st centuries. Particular attention is given to the Mahandzhar Neolithic culture, including its origins, settlement patterns, and interactions with the forest-steppe tribes of the Trans-Urals.
The presentation was attended by scholars from KRU and the A.Kh. Margulan Institute of Archaeology, staff of the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local History, as well as representatives of the Department of Culture of the Akimat of the Kostanay Region.
