Participants discussed new graduate recruitment pathways, opportunities for professional development and the importance of attracting young professionals to government bodies.
Since July 1, 2026, when the new Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the Civil Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan” came into force, university graduates have had broader employment opportunities.
Graduates with a GPA of at least 3.33 may be eligible for appointment to certain entry-level positions without competitive selection.
This applies regardless of whether they studied on a state grant or paid tuition fees.
The eQyzmet digital platform also helps graduates find suitable vacancies.
Its dedicated TÚLEK “Vacancies for Graduates” section allows users to search by region, district and specialisation, review job requirements and salaries, and apply online.
Another way to explore the civil service before graduation is through the “School for Young Civil Servants” project.
Applications for the next intake are open to final-year university and college students until October 31, 2026.
“We invite students to take this opportunity to learn about the civil service while still studying.
It is a chance to gain practical knowledge, complete an internship and take the first step towards a future career,” the agency’s specialists said.
The most engaging part of the meeting was hearing from people who had already followed this path.
Serving civil servants were invited to share their experiences, discuss their professional development and outline opportunities for career progression.
Among them were Baitursynuly University graduates.
Dmitry Yeremenko graduated from the Jurisprudence programme at KRU’s Faculty of Economics and Law.
While still a student, he participated in the School for Young Civil Servants, gaining his first practical experience and learning how government bodies operate.
After completing both university and the programme, Dmitry entered the civil service. He now works as a Chief Specialist at the Kostanay Regional Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs.
Milvara Karimova’s story shows how academic achievement can open the door to a career. A KRU Jurisprudence graduate with a GPA of 3.79, she took advantage of the opportunity to enter the civil service without competitive selection.
Milvara is now a Chief Specialist in the Accounting and Financial Support Sector of the Office of the Akim of Tobyl, Kostanay District.
She is also continuing her studies on a master’s programme in her field at Baitursynuly University.
According to Milvara, combining work and study is entirely achievable.
Dmitry and Milvara shared their experiences with students, describing their first steps in the profession and the opportunities available to young specialists.
Their stories demonstrated how exploring a profession while still at university, maintaining strong academic results and seeking practical experience can help graduates begin their careers with greater confidence.
